Our Reclamation Yard
Our location
Our new yard is on the B4100 Bicester to Banbury road by the village of Souldern, 2 miles from junction 10 of the M40. Visit our contact page to see a Google map of our location.
New yard
Our yard is the former Volvo truck garage that in the past has also been used for a petrol station and coach depot. We managed to buy the site in the summer of 2009 and have had a full flooring showroom laid so you can walk on the tiles and get a real feel for them. Also inside we have a fireplace and stove display area as well as a door and door fittings display area. Other items inside are all of our oak and elm beams and wooden flooring.
We have over an acre of outside stock for you to wander through.
History
Burgess reclamation started trading as Burgess and Sons in the early 1950s by George Burgess. Working as a demolition contractor Burgess and sons carried out many jobs in and around the Bicester area including the Regal cinema Bicester and the site the old Crown Walk site.
Demolition generated lots of reclaimed items and because of this our reclamation yard was formed. George working with his two sons Mike and Bob continued to knock buildings down all over Oxfordshire. Bob’s son Adam who had served 6 years in the Royal Green Jackets started working for Burgess and Sons and has taken the yard on. In 2009 the yard moved to a larger site on the B4100 Bicester to Banbury road by the village of Souldern.
